Our Beliefs

Independent

We are an independent, Bible-believing, soul-winning, traditional Baptist church. We do not answer to nor belong to any conference. We are self-governing under the leadership of the Holy Spirit and have determined to stay that way.  We as a church have decided that our affiliation and association with other groups will be based on our core beliefs and a desire to remain free from apostasy and liberal influences.

Soul Winning

TO BE SAVED YOU MUST REALIZE YOUR CONDITION

YOU MUST REALIZE THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN

YOU MUST RECOGNIZE GOD’S LOVE FOR YOU

YOU MUST REPENT OF YOUR SIN

YOU MUST RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR

It is our sincere hope that you already know Jesus Christ as your Savior and that if you were to die today that you know that Heaven would be your eternal home. If you do not know or if you are unsure about your eternal destiny please let us share with you the simple plan of salvation from God’s word.

TO BE SAVED YOU MUST REALIZE YOUR CONDITION **Romans 3:23  For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God: Each and every one of us is less than perfect. We are born with a sinful nature that alienates and separates us from God. We are sinners because we have a sinful nature, not because of our actions and attitudes.

YOU MUST REALIZE THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN **Romans 6:23(a)  For the wages of sin is death… Saved people as well as the unsaved face physical death but this is referring to a far greater death, this is the Second Death.

**Revelation 20:14-15 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.  Sin will be judged and condemned by God. Because of that sinful nature, we are required to pay the debt of that sin.

YOU MUST RECOGNIZE GOD’S LOVE FOR YOU **Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. God realizes that none of us are able to pay the debt of sin without going to Hell. He loves us so much that the Lord Jesus Christ took all of our sins upon himself and paid the entirety of the debt for all of mankind.

YOU MUST REPENT OF YOUR SIN **Luke 13:5 … except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. To repent means to do an about-face and go in the opposite direction from which you were going before. It means that you are sorry for and ready to forsake your sin.

YOU MUST RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR **Romans 6:23(b). the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation is a gift that must be received. It is not worked for and neither is it earned.

**John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name. We receive the gift of salvation by declaring our belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and requesting the forgiveness of sins.

**Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

**Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you would like to ask Jesus Christ to save your soul, please allow us to help you word a prayer.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins and were resurrected on the third day. Please come into my heart forgive me of my sin and save my soul from Hell. I’m trusting you to save me and take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you Jesus for saving my soul. Help me to trust and believe you. Amen      [Remember, it’s not the words that save, but your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ]  1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Traditional Music

We at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church believe that music in the church is not to be worldly in lyrics or in its beat.  We use traditional hymns and music that is distinctive from the world. Blending Christian lyrics with rock and roll or the country music style is contrary to our desired direction. Our desire is to see our music program glorify and please our Heavenly Father and to use music to prepare the hearts and minds of those present to receive the preaching and teaching of the word of God.

We enjoy music from a variety of church members that add to the quality of our services. We enjoy; Adult Choir, Teen and Children’s Choir, Special Music programs, solos, and groups that wish to use their talents for the Lord and His work here.

Bible Believing (KJV – 1611)

We believe that the 1611 KJV is God’s preserved word for us today. We do not believe that there are errors or contradictions in it. We maintain that it is exactly what the Holy Spirit would have us use as our final, infallible, authority in all matters of faith and practice. We do not simply prefer or use the King James Bible, we in fact believe it as it is. It is and has been the most published and used Bible since its printing without people attempting to promote it.
It is without copyright and is available to anyone at any time to print it, quote, and use without permission from anyone. It is truly unique in its origin, in its acceptance, and continuance. We believe and teach that the King James Bible is the preserved word of God without error because original inspiration without continuing preservation is pointless
